Ģeneratīvu procesu un signāla manipulācijas rezultātā šo darbu fragmentos fiksētas robežstāvokļu vizuālās izpausmes, tverot attiecības starp attēla stabilitāti un sabrukumu. Mārtiņš Ratniks strādā audiovizuālas performances un video mākslas jomās. Studējis Latvijas Mākslas akadēmijas Vizuālās komunikācijas nodaļā. Viņš ir piedalījies elektroniskās mākslas un mediju centra “E-LAB” darbībā un kopš 2000. gada ir jauno mediju kultūras centra “RIXC” biedrs, iesaistoties dažādos sadarbības projektos un veidojot grafikas dizainu RIXC publikācijām. Kopš 1998. gada – mākslinieku grupas F5 (“Famous Five”) dalībnieks. F5 sastāvā piedalījies vairākās starptautiski nozīmīgās izstādēs, tostarp pārstāvējis Latviju 25. Sanpaulu biennālē (2002), 51. Venēcijas biennālē (2005). Jau divdesmit gadus sadarbojas ar grupu Clausthome, veidojot audiovizuālas performances. Šobrīd Mārtiņš Ratniks ir pasniedzējs Latvijas Mākslas akadēmijā, Audio-vizuālo mediju mākslas nodaļā kā arī studē Profesionālās doktorantūras programmā. "[out of sync] Images from the Ether" exhibition presents video works developed through years of experimental practice, combining analogue and digital video technologies. Through generative processes and signal manipulation, these works capture visual manifestations of threshold states, exploring the relationship between stability and collapse. Mārtiņš Ratniks works in the fields of audiovisual performance and video art. He studied at the Department of Visual Communication at the Art Academy of Latvia. He has participated in the activities of the electronic art and media centre E-LAB and, since 2000, has been a member of the new media culture centre RIXC, contributing to various collaborative projects and producing graphic design for RIXC publications. Since 1998, he has been a member of the artist group F5 (Famous Five). As part of F5, he has participated in several major international exhibitions, including representing Latvia at the 25th São Paulo Biennial (2002) and the 51st Venice Biennale (2005). For over twenty years, he has collaborated with the group Clausthome to create audiovisual performances. Currently, he is a lecturer in the Department of Audiovisual Media Art at the Art Academy of Latvia and is also pursuing a professional doctorate. On view until May 16, 2026.
